The small mountain-town of Salida sits at 7,083 ft. in a valley beside stunning 14,000 ft peaks in what is known as the Banana Belt of Colorado. The weather systems here provide a unique situation whereby the local ski mountain, Monarch, gets some of the best snow in Colorado while downtown Salida stays relatively warmer and dryer. That means that just about any day in March you can ski in the morning and then ride your mountain bike on buffed-out singletrack in the afternoon. Check out our local mountain bike trails and up-to-date trail conditions. Salida Bike Company has Giant Demos and Rentals and is open 7 days a week. Come visit us!
